China's industrial robot output rose 34.6% in August 2026
Data from China's National Bureau of Statistics shows that automated equipment manufacturing activity continued to grow. For machine buyers, the next step is to determine the configuration and factory acceptance conditions.
A signal from the manufacturing side
A September 15, 2026 release from China's National Bureau of Statistics stated that industrial robot output in August increased by 34.6% year on year. Output of robot reducers rose by 11.4%. This is monthly production data in China, not export growth to Vietnam or the order volume of individual brands.
From industry data to factory requirements
From an editorial perspective, Vietnamese businesses evaluating equipment should start with the process they need to improve: feeding, pick-and-place, packaging, or palletizing. A generic description such as a “six-axis robot” is not enough for a supplier to propose a solution. The dimensions of the item, payload, operating cycle, and actual installation space need to be provided.
Growth figures can be used as context for industry research. Purchasing decisions should still be based on tests suitable for the factory's products, together with the ability to integrate with equipment already in operation. It cannot be inferred from the production growth rate that prices will fall or that machines will be available from stock.
Three points to include in a quotation request
1. Separate the robot portion from the integration portion: controller, gripper, sensors, safety enclosure, conveyor, and programming. Request that included items, optional items, and items the factory must prepare be clearly identified. Comparing the same scope helps avoid overlooking installation costs.
2. Describe the trial run using actual products or samples accepted by both parties. Specify how cycle time is calculated, the number of test runs, pass conditions, and how failures are handled. Demonstration videos of a different configuration should only be used for discussing ideas.
3. Clarify who provides support when the machine stops, which spare parts can be replaced in Vietnam, and which documents will be handed over. For control software, ask about access rights, backup, and configuration restoration so the factory can carry out maintenance proactively.
Set inspection checkpoints before machine delivery
The editorial team recommends keeping an approved configuration record including the model, program version, and accessory list. Any changes after the trial run should be reconfirmed. Before shipment, compare the actual machine with this configuration and finalize the receiving, installation, and factory acceptance plan.
