Electronics supply chains: promoting connections with Vietnamese suppliers by product
Government information released on 14 September 2026 focuses on supply capacity, technical standards and business linkages. Component dossiers need to be sufficiently clear for the connection stage to become a practical assessment.
Connections tied to specific needs
According to Government information dated 14 September 2026 regarding Notice 481/TB-VPCP, the Ministry of Industry and Trade was assigned to coordinate the development of a Vietnamese supplier development program for electronics, semiconductor and technology corporations. Connections are oriented around product chains, technical standards and business needs. FDI enterprises are required to expand their Vietnamese supplier base, share quality processes and support training.
What should a quotation dossier answer?
Editorial assessment: for businesses importing components or supplying factories, a catalog with images and prices is only the starting point. Buyers need to know the component code, manufacturer, version, operating specifications and the scope of testing conducted. Data published by the manufacturer should be separated from results independently tested by the seller.
If proposing a replacement for a component currently in use, provide a comparison table for each specification and state the differences. Two codes with the same dimensions may require different installation methods or operating conditions. The customer's technical team must have sufficient information to decide whether to test samples.
Prepare a traceable sample batch
Practical recommendation: link samples to item codes, batch numbers, purchase sources and receipt dates; retain label photos along with documents for the correct version. Agree in advance on evaluation criteria, sample quantities and the recipient of results. If samples fail, record the reasons according to the agreed criteria so the supplier can respond specifically.
When moving to a commercial order, request confirmation that delivered goods have the same configuration as the tested samples. Any change of manufacturer, component part or version must be notified in advance. Also agree on batch segregation, defective-goods handling and spare-part supply, rather than merely stating a general warranty period.
Monitor fulfillment capability after the connection stage
The guidance information does not mean that a business has been selected as a supplier or has received specific incentives. The editorial team recommends monitoring three separate milestones: a dossier sufficient for evaluation, accepted samples and the first accepted order. Each milestone requires confirmation from the buyer before order quantities are expanded.
