Consolidation and Counting in China
Track goods from multiple suppliers, reconcile quantities, and record their condition within the agreed scope.
For orders with multiple SKUs or suppliers that require identification conventions, counting, and shipment consolidation before onward forwarding.
Service scope
- Agree on order codes, supplier codes, and identifying marks on packages.
- Reconcile incoming goods against the expected list; record package quantities and received condition.
- Count according to the agreed unit and level of detail: packages, SKUs, or products.
- Record discrepancies and images where permitted, and send them to the designated contact for handling.
- Confirm additional packaging, storage conditions, and the consolidation dispatch time.
What we need
- Supplier list, order codes, and product codes.
- Expected quantity for each code, reference samples, and packaging specifications.
- Requirements for opening packages, counting, condition photos, or additional packaging.
- Conditions for consolidated dispatch: complete goods, scheduled dispatch, or dispatch after separate confirmation.
Important notes
- Counting does not mean quality inspection, functional testing, or assurance of manufacturing quality.
- Opening every product, sampling, and specialized inspections require a separate scope.
- Storage, packaging materials, and handling of discrepant goods must be confirmed in terms of work and cost.
Frequently asked questions
Will each product be opened for inspection?
The extent of package opening is agreed before receiving the goods. Counting by package differs from reconciling each SKU or each product. If functional checks, quality checks, or sampling are needed, separate criteria and scope must be defined.
How are missing or incorrect goods handled?
Order codes, quantities, and appropriate images should be recorded, then reconciled against the received list. The designated contact communicates with the supplier and confirms whether goods will be supplemented, held, or forwarded. Not every discrepancy should automatically be considered a transport error.
Are storage and packaging costs charged separately?
These items should be included in the quotation scope where applicable. Confirm when charges begin, the billing unit, materials used, and the approver. Counting fees should not be assumed to include all types of packaging or storage time.
What images will the business receive?
Agree in advance on the photo angles and items to be recorded, such as package labels, quantities, or packaging condition. Images support reconciliation within the completed scope and do not replace a product inspection report.
