Vietnam–China logistics connections in September: from meeting partners to organizing a shipment
The study program in China highlights the need for coordination among transport, warehousing and technology businesses. Importers need to check how different contact points hand over work.
The program took place from September 6 to 13
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade's logistics website, the Import-Export Department organized a study and business networking delegation in Hangzhou, Ningbo, Shenzhen and Qinzhou from September 6–13, 2026. The program included activities to learn about infrastructure, technology, multimodal transport and exchanges between businesses from the two countries. The source was published on September 13; this was a networking activity, not an announcement of a specific shipping service available to all customers.
Editorial perspective: the value lies in handover points
For buyers sourcing from multiple suppliers, a broad network is only useful when it is clear which party takes responsibility and what data travels with the goods. Map a short journey from the factory to the receiving warehouse in Vietnam, then record the responsible party at each point. A coordinating contact point should be able to explain both its own role and the parts handled by partners.
Ask when status information is updated: when the request has been received, when the goods have been received, or when handover has been completed. These are three different statuses. If there is only a general notification that goods are being processed, buyers may find it difficult to determine whether goods are missing, confirmation is missing, or a shipment is awaiting departure.
Checklist for working with a new contact point
1. Identify the party signing the service agreement and the party performing the work at each stage. Request a list of contacts by responsibility, including the person who handles cases where a supplier delivers short or the receiving warehouse reports a different parcel count.
2. Agree on a reference code used consistently across the purchase order, warehouse receipt and delivery shipment. Test-match one line item before transferring the full list; the Chinese name and internal name should identify the same product.
3. Agree on how exceptions are recorded: photos, relevant parcel counts, time of discovery and the person authorized to decide on handling. For consolidated goods, specify which portion continues onward and which portion waits when a supplier has not delivered in full.
Evaluate based on confirmed handovers
After a shipment, compare the update schedule with receipt records and actual issues. A partner list or participation in a seminar does not replace evidence that work has been completed. The steps above are editorial recommendations for choosing a coordination approach; this article does not confirm that TBS participated in the delegation or guarantee outcomes from the program.
